What's Wake Up Call all about?
Wake Up Call is a weekly email service designed to deliver Christian support, encouragement
and challenge to Christians directly in their workplace.
Launched on 5 Nov 2001, it is designed to help connect biblical truth specifically
to the type of work situations that so many Christians face on a daily basis.
Through Wake Up Call you will be able to discover with the disciples how to meet
God when you are under pressure. If you are feeling confused you will find helpful
advice on being valued, changing direction or reviewing priorities. Seasonal suggestions
for Christmas and Easter will help you find a workplace perspective on familiar stories.
Dealing with difficulties such as downsizing, discouragement or divisive people, Wake Up
Call will help you gain a new perspective on your work. It will even help you find and
celebrate your successes.
Wake Up Call arises from the disconnect many Christians feel between Sunday and Monday -
a disconnect that produces comments like "I need support when I'm in the frontline - where
the struggle is fiercest….."
In short we aim to bring the Word of God directly into your world of work.
Who is Wake Up Call from?
Wake Up Call is sent to you from the WorkNet Partnership - the UK's leading organisation
designed to support Christians at work.
Wake Up Call is written by Geoff Shattock, National Director of WorkNet Partnership.
Geoff combines a unique set of skills and experience as a stress management trainer,
ordained minister, broadcaster and writer.
Does Wake Up Call cost anything?
The short answer to this is no - and yes! Subscribing to Wake Up Call need not cost
you a penny. But on the other hand it does cost us to provide the service and run the
WorkNet Partnership.
We'd like to think you will find it valuable, and therefore that you'd be prepared to
contribute to the costs of the WorkNet Partnership’s ministry.
We'd like to suggest that you contribute at the rate of 50p per week - less than the
price of a cup of coffee. (We think that many people will come to find that the coffee
and the email taken together may be the best way of facing a new week at work!).
